City of Ljubljana has eight railway stations—Medno, Ljubljana Vižmarje, Ljubljana Stegne, Litostroj, Ljubljana Šiška, Ljubljana, Ljubljana Polje and Ljubljana Zalog—only on the railway line from Jesenice to Ljubljana and Dobova. Upgrade proposal for this line—as part of the Corridor Sava: Salzburg–Jesenice–Ljubljana–Dobova–Zagreb—is a double-track line, electrification upgrade, with speeds up to 160 km/h and multi-level crossings.

Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia is connected also to other corridor proposals: Kamniška Bistrica–Krka–Kolpa, Ljubljana Led of the Sava Corridor, Julian Alps–Istria and last but not least, Gorizica–Central Slovenia.
